Mark Walter, Co-Founder and CEO

Mr. Walter is the creative designer and main developer for Virtual Commissioning. His 40 years of experience includes an extensive background in Building Automation Systems (BAS), covering all phases of senior project management, design, installation, programming, graphics, start-up and commissioning. 

His specializations include operations and maintenance (O&M) assessments, and building commissioning. He holds advanced BAS programming certifications and numerous commissioning certifications. Mr. Walter is a black belt and certified instructor (sensei) in the martial arts of Jiu Jitsu. He enjoys writing in his spare time.

Alex Walter, Co-Founder
Senior VP Development

Mr. Walter is co-founder of Virtual Commissioning. e has eight (8) years of experience in building testing and commissioning. Mr. Walter has played major roles in the development processes for the firm. He has been deeply involved in the initial design and development of biix's Building Guru, building the original prototypes. He is a part-time student at the University of Virginia, majoring in physics.


Peter Lloyd, P.E., Senior VP Engineering

Mr. Lloyd has over 31 years of experience as an electrical hardware and software/process engineer. He specializes in the design of electrical distribution systems, switchgear, motor control centers, variable frequency drive systems, water plant controls, industrial control panels, development of factory and site acceptance test plans and the start-up of instrumentation and control systems. Water Membrane and UV sterilization systems are other areas that Mr. Lloyd has been involved in, together with solar design.

Mr. Lloyd has developed arc flash studies and is fluent with Etap electrical development software. He has expertise in software design for industrial control systems, with working knowledge and experience with major software vendors such as Allen Bradley, GE and Modicon and OPC server/client software. His software experience includes C++ and Visual Basic. He is a Professional Electrical Engineer (CA), and has a BS in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Mathematics and Physics, both from the University of Sydney.
